At Riverton Hospital, we strive to be a good community partner. As part of that mission, we want to support our local schools through a versatile partnership program to help support our future doctors, nurses, pharmacists, radiology techs, and countless other healthcare professionals. These partnerships are meant to be flexible and fluid to meet the needs of your school and students.
Ways Riverton Hospital can help support your school:
Speakers Bureau – We have a wide range of experts who can speak to students about a variety of topics:
- Health and Fitness
- Sports Medicine/Training
- Nutrition - Laboratory
- Emergency Medicine
- Artificial Heart Technology
- Emergency Preparedness
Hospital Tours – Students can get a behind-the-scenes look at how our hospital is operated. Small groups or single classes work best for hospital tours. Contact Jeni Owens in Public Relations at 801-285-2016.
Job Shadows – Intermountain’s Student Placement Program can arrange for students to spend a few hours shadowing a professional in his or her work setting. These are arranged on an individual basis and must meet a class requirement. For more information contact Staci Warren at 801-442-2244.
Ways your school can be involved at Riverton Hospital:
Jr. Volunteer Program – Our Jr. Volunteers do many important things that help us give the best possible care to our patients. Students between the ages of 14 to 18 who can commit to four hours a week for at least six months can participate in our Jr. Volunteer program. For more information, contact Andrea McConkie, volunteer director, at 801-285-2137.
Donations – Students and teachers often contact the hospital looking for ways to help patients and families in need. Here are a few ways to help:
- Make activity kits for children in our Emergency Department or Children’s Unit.
- Make/donate receiving blankets for newborns.
- Hold a used DVD drive for our movie rental program.
- Suggest your own idea.
