Visitor guidelines have been updated for the UCR by Infection Prevention & Control and the Department of Nursing for the remainder of 2010’s flu season, which is expected to run until the end of March.
The recommendations for specific units are as follows:
ICUs, NICU, AND TRANSPLANT UNITS:
- Only two visitors at a time are welcome.
- Children under age 14 shouldn’t visit.
ALL UNITS:
- No sick visitors. If you have a fever, cough, sore throat, fatigue, nausea, vomiting or diarrhea, please go home.
- Patients who have flu or cold symptoms should wear masks. Staff will provide one.
- Wash your hands frequently with soap and water or use hand sanitizer.
- Cover coughs and sneezes with a tissue or your upper sleeve.
Visiting Guidelines
Join us in our efforts to care for your family member or friend through brief and pleasant visits. Please supervise small children closely, for their own safety and for the comfort of our patients.
Well visitors only, please. Protect your loved one by staying home if you are sick or have recently been exposed to a contagious illness such as chicken pox, measles, mumps, pertussis (whooping cough), tuberculosis, or rubella. This helps patients avoid infections that could jeopardize their recovery.
General Visiting Hours. Hours are 10am-8pm daily. Check with your nurse for unit-specific guidelines.
