Without a proper warm up, soccer players greatly increase their risk of injury to muscles, tendons, and ligaments.

A complete pre-practice warm up is one of the most important factors in preventing injuries.

Why correct warm ups are so important:

  • They increase the body’s temperature by sending blood to the muscles that are going to be used while playing soccer.
  • They increase the flexibility and extensibility of the body’s soft tissue (muscles, tendons, ligaments and fascia).
  • Without a proper warm up, soccer players greatly increase their risk of injury to muscles, tendons, and ligaments.

IMPORTANT TO REMEMBER: A SOCCER PLAYER SHOULD WARM UP TO KICK, AND NOT KICK TO WARM UP!
