ImPACT Testing

Utah state law requires that any athlete suspected of a concussion must be removed from the event and cannot return to play until cleared by a qualified healthcare provider.

Establishing a baseline of your congnitive function before starting a sport season makes it much faster and easier for a healthcare provider to accurately diagnose your level of injury. We use a computerized neurocognitive assessment tool called ImPACT testing along with some other tests to collect a complete picture of your mental state. Once this data is collected, it can be used as a comparrison following a brain injury to determine the extent of the damage.

Testing takes about 30 minutes for each athlete. We offer group discounts for whole teams.

Our Medical Director, Dr. Anne Russo, explains more about concussions on this Medical Minute.
