A common method of treating cancer is chemotherapy, which is a medication used to damage and destroy cancerous cells.
Our experienced treatment team uses the latest cancer treatment methods and technology to provide the most effective chemotherapy treatments possible for each patient. You can rely on their experience to give you confidence as you face each challenge.

Chemotherapy: Another Piece to the Puzzle

Your medical oncologists (chemotherapy physicians) are part of your care team and work the other members of that team – including radiation physicians and surgical specialists – to determine how chemotherapy may best fit in with your individualized treatment. This team approach ensures you get the right treatment plan for you.

Individualized Chemotherapy Treatment

Chemotherapy treatment is individualized for each patient, and the effects of that customization vary too in terms of specific medications used, intensity, duration and side effects.

Treatment options can include:

  • An IV (intravenous) infusion
  • A pill that is taken orally
  • Injections

If you have questions about chemotherapy and its use in your treatment plan, please contact the Utah Valley Cancer Center at (801) 357-8200.
