Diabetes medications can be expensive. At the Diabetes Management Clinic, we realize the cost is as big of an issue as is your health. We strive to inform you of any medication assistance programs that are available and sensitive to your financial needs.
Options for those without insurance
For those without insurance, our pharmacist can assist them to get free medication. Pharmaceutical companies provide medication free of charge if the patient qualifies based on income.
Many companies will post copay assistance cards online. Some medications may be as low as $5/$10/$25 per month. Just look up your drug by entering the name of your medication, then add .com on the end (example: novolog.com). With these cards, medications must be purchased on a month to month basis.
- Order 3 months at a time: many insurance companies provide discounts for advance ordering. For example, they may give you a drug supply for 3 months with only a 2 month copay amount.
- Order generics: generally generics are the best option. We do our best to use generics when available.
