Your HbA1c test result tells how much glucose has attached to your red blood cell over the previous three months.
The lower your HbA1c score, the better your blood glucose control and the less chance you have of developing complications.
A healthy person without diabetes will have an HbA1c between 4 percent and 6 percent.
If you have diabetes, the American Diabetes Association recommends a goal of less than seven percent for most people with diabetes.
If you are interested in getting a HbA1c test, please contact your primary care physician.
