(801) 357-7227 Definition
Normally there should be no connection between the right atrium that carries the unoxygenated blood and the left atrium which carries the oxygenated blood. In some patients, there is a whole between these two upper chambers of the heart which can sometimes lead to the wearing out of the heart, stress on the lung circulation, or strokes.
