What sets us Apart
Experience. We provide extensive, comprehensive services at one location and many years of experience in each specialty. The two neuro clinical specialists on our team are actively involved in best-practice research and university consortiums, both locally and abroad.
Ongoing Support. We provide physical therapy services for all neurologic impairments, including, but not limited to, stroke, traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury and amputation. As part of our ongoing support efforts, we offer a brain injury support group, held every first Thursday of the month at Rocky Mountain University, at 7p.m.
Mini-stroke care. We also provide Transient Ischemic Attack (TIA) – mini-stroke – follow-up evaluation for cardiovascular outpatient program.

What is the service?
We coordinate and conduct all balance and dizziness remediation in cooperation with referring physicians.
What are best practices for this service?
We practice according to best clinical practices for making decisions about the diagnosis, treatment, and management of persons with hearing and balance disorders, based on the integration of individual clinical expertise and the best available research evidence.
What awards/certifications do you have for this service?
We are pleased that all of our staff have Board Certificate of Clinical Competence and all are American Academy of Audiology fellows.
Hydrotherapy involves using a hot or cold whirlpool to help with pain and improve joint mobility.
Neurorehabilitation is a collection of treatment interventions that are case specific and focus on aiding a person's recovery, or help that individual to live a more normal, active, and independent life. The goal of neurorehabilitation is to combat those changes and improve quality of life by various therapies.
Neuro-rehablitation is a complex medical process which aims to aid recovery from a nervous system injury, and to minimize and/or compensate for any functional alterations resulting from the injury.
The unloading device is equipment that off-loads a patient's body weight to allow for normal exercise movement patterns without pain.
We work in conjunction with ATTP certified vendor.
What to Expect
A patient must be referred by a physiatrist, by call-center secretary or by consult/evaluation. Self-referred patients are also accepted.
Before receiving therapy, we require certain forms to be completed, including registration, medications, history of surgeries and/or illnesses.
What should I bring
You should wear comfortable, loose clothing to your appointment.
During the first visit, a thorough medical history will be collected and reviewed. Patient goals will be established. A home exercise and management program will be designed around patient needs and goals.
Arrival time
Patients should arrive 15 minutes early for evaluations.
How long will the appointment be?
Evaluation typically takes 45 to 90 minutes. Treatment sessions are typically 45 to 60 minutes.
Follow-up Appointments
Ongoing treatments are scheduled one month at a time and the schedule is provided to the patients at the time of scheduling.
Meet the Team
Lori graduated from San Jose State in California with a bachelor's degree in occupational therapy. She has been a practicing therapist for 24 years and holds certification in lymphedema treatment through the Norton School of Lymphatic Therapy.
Lori has also obtained advanced training in breast cancer rehabilitation and newborn intensive care. She is based at Utah Valley Regional Medical Center, where she has worked for five years.
Lori Dillman practices at:
Tim graduated with master's degree in speech-language pathology from Brigham Young University. He earned a certificate of clinical competence in speech-language pathology. He graduated as a medical speech-language pathologist from St. Luke’s Hospital, Aberdeen, SD.
Tim completed his training in modified barium swallow studies and for endoscopic speech services including FEES (Fiber Optic Evaluation of Swallow) and videostroboscopy for voice assessment. He is certified in NMES for swallow with Vital-Stim and certified in LSVT-LOUD (Voice Treatment Program) for Parkinson’s disease. He obtained BRS-S (ASHA board recognized specialist in swallowing and swallow disorders). Tim has nearly 25 years experience in neuro-rehabilitation with extensive experience in the diagnosis and treatment of the following: aphasia, TBI, neurogenic speech disorders, dysphagia, attention/concentration deficits, memory impairment.
Tim works with all aspects of dysphagia and voice disorders. Tim is based at Utah Valley Regional Medical Center.
Timothy Grotegut practices at:
Tyler received his Master’s of physical therapy degree from the University of Utah in 2002, where he performed original research focusing on reaching tasks for individuals with ataxia. He worked full-time in the home health arena for two and a half years before joining the rehabilitation staff on Utah Valley Regional Medical Center’s Neurotrauma Unit. He has a passion for neurotrauma rehabilitation and specializes in stroke.
Tyler helped create the Stroke Specialty Committee and is the current chair of the committee. The Stroke Speciality Committee is a community-based stroke advocacy group (UVSA). He is pursuing his neurologic certified specialist (NCS) certification from the APTA.
Tyler Huish practices at:
Jory completed his bachelor’s degree at Utah Valley University in May 2007 in business management and Psychology, and then went on to graduate from Pacific University in Forest Grove, Oregon, with a Master’s Degree in occupational therapy.
During his last semester of occupational therapy school, Jory designed and planned a sensory horse riding trail for children in Beaverton, Oregon, and created a business plan for a driving rehabilitation center.
In September 2011, Jory became a certified lymphedema therapist. In November 2011, he became certified in the Graston Technique method of instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization. Jory is seeking specialization in Parkinson’s disease and certification in LSVT BIG.
Jory Liddiard practices at:
Rhonda graduated from the University of Utah in physical therapy in 1984 and received her Master's in the post-professional physical therapy program at Rocky Mountain University in 2003. She has specialized in neurological rehabilitation throughout her career and is currently seeking the Neurology Clinical Specialist Certification.
Rhonda has extensive experience and training in stroke, brain injury, balance, amputation and prosthetic rehabilitation. She also has an interest in furthering her skills in vestibular rehabilitation.
Rhonda Metcalf practices at:
Jim received his bachelor of science from the University of Utah in Speech and Hearing Science.
He treats a variety of adult patients in the acute, rehabilitation and outpatient setting. He has training and expertise in the areas of language, cognition, speech, fluency, Parkison's Disease (voice) and dysphagia.
Jim is a LSVT Loud certified (voice training for patients with Parkinson's Disease), is FEES certified (Fiberoptic Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallow) and has a special interest in childhood and adolescent stuttering.

Adrianne graduated from the University of Michigan with her bachelor's degree in movement science and a PhD in physical therapy from Northwestern University in Chicago. Adrianne has a wide variety of clinical experience from pediatrics and geriatrics to acute care and sports medicine.
Adrianne Musick practices at:
Alan graduated from the University of Utah with a bachelor's degree in physical therapy. Since 2004, he has focused his interest in treating patients with balance impairments and dizziness symptoms.
Alan is also associated with the evaluation and treatment of acute inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation patients at Utah Valley Rehabilitation Center. He is working with therapists throughout the state to develop protocols for treating patients with balance problems. As part of the team treating these patients, he is associated with ENT physicians and audiologists.
Alan Nybo practices at:
Paul Osborn entered the field of medical speech pathology with a great desire to help others overcome difficult challenges in their lives. He moved to Provo, Utah, to attend college at Brigham Young University, where he received his Master's degree. He began working for Intermountain Healthcare in 1988.
He enjoys working in neuro rehabilitation and specializes in areas of swallowing disorders, voice disorders, memory and cognitive dysfunction in both inpatient and outpatient settings. He holds certification in LSVT-Loud (for treatment of Parkinson’s Disease related voice disorders) and FEES (for evaluation of swallow disorders). He loves living in Utah and spends a lot of time in the outdoors with his family and volunteering in the community and for his church.
Paul Osborn practices at:
Deanna graduated in psychology from Indiana University and received a master’s degree in occupational therapy from University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill.
Deanna specializes in the evaluation of driving skills for patients who have sustained an injury or illness affecting their driving skills, or impairments secondary to advanced age that may affect driving skills. She also specializes in community integration training and rehabilitation for vision deficits. She previously worked with outpatient pediatrics and early intervention. She is based at Utah Valley Regional Medical Center where she has worked for 18 years.
Deanna Peabody practices at:
LeAnn graduated with a master's degree in speech-language pathology in 1985 and began working for Intermountian Healthcare as a medical speech and language pathologist in 1986.
She has over 24 years experience in neuro-rehabilitation, providing services for all generations. LeAnn has extensive experience in an acute hospital setting, neuro rehabilitation, outpatient services, home healthcare, consultant and extended care facilities with emphasis on the treatment and diagnosis of aphasia, neurogenic speech disorders, dysphagia and cognitive impairment.
LeAnn Reeves practices at:
Shane completed a bachelor’s degree in exercise science at Brigham Young University. He received his master’s degree in physical therapy from the University of the Pacific in Stockton, California. He has specialized in neurologic diagnoses for the past 15 years and is seeking a neurologic certification specialty through the APTA.
Shane is trained and certified in the physical treatment of Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis, spinal cord injury, stroke and traumatic brain injuries. He is an experienced seating wheelchair evaluation specialist.
Shane is based in the Neuro-Rehabilitation Department at Utah Valley Regional Medical Center.
