Essential to nearly every sport is the ability to run quickly and effectively. Though an early learned skill, it is not always done correctly, which can limit an athlete’s full ability. Our treadmill training program helps recruitment of muscle fiber, builds speed, and strengthens hip flexors and sprint muscles.
The treadmills used in the training center are able to be inclined, and the speed controlled to promote different training environments. We also use the Dartfish analysis software, which produces a computerized model of a runner’s technique, identifying areas for improvement.
The following are included in the treadmill training:
- Foot strike
- Body angle
- Arm swing
- Dartfish analysis
- Slow motion
- Overlap of before and after analyses
- Top speed
- Proper technique
- Treadmills can be inclined at up to 40%
- Muscle fiber builds 3x faster with an incline, compared to ground-based running
