Preventing heart disease is an important goal of Intermountain Healthcare’s Heart and Vascular Services. Regular visits to your physician can help discover the early signs of heart disease. Once the signs of heart disease are discovered, our heart specialists develop individualized heart disease prevention plans for people at risk for heart disease or those who have had a heart attack, stroke, or other type of heart or circulation problem.

LiVe Well Center
The LiVe Well Center at LDS Hospital (formerly the Health & Fitness Institute) is a premier preventive medicine center providing the most convenient and comprehensive one-day health evaluations and executive physicals in the Intermountain West. The LiVe Well Center assesses and manages health and lifestyle risk factors for chronic disease with an emphasis on the prevention of cardiovascular disease, cancer and diabetes.
Cardiac risk factors are conditions or behaviors that increase your chance of developing coronary atherosclerosis. They’re also factors that can make your existing heart disease worse. An important goal of your treatment is to reduce or eliminate these risk factors wherever possible.
Exercise, nutrition, quitting smoking, maintaining a healthy weight, and managing stress are important habits which can help improve the health of your heart.
