Four Heart Care Hospitals

Four Heart Care Hospitals

Our Salt Lake Valley heart network includes Alta View Hospital, LDS Hospital, Riverton Hospital and the Heart Institute at Intermountain Medical Center, one of the nation's premier heart centers.

More about the Heart Institute at Intermountain Medical Center

The Heart Institute, located at Intermountain Medical Center in Murray, provides advanced cardiac care in addition to heart imaging and diagnosis. The Heart Institute is consistently the highest volume center for heart procedures and surgeries in Utah. It provides access to over 70 ongoing clinical trials and offers advanced technology such as hybrid nuclear/CT heart scans and left ventricular assist devices.

Four hospitals. The same high-quality experience for heart patients.

Did you know that the four Intermountain Hospitals in the Salt Lake Area work as a team to provide the same high quality heart services? Each hospital’s heart department is staffed and operated by a central administration located at Intermountain Medical Center. All four hospitals share the same team of heart physicians, and the same standards of care. This means you have the same high-quality experience, no matter which hospital is closest to your home.

Four hospitals. The same access to advanced care and specialty heart programs.

All of our hospitals provide excellent diagnostic and imaging services and allow you to see your primary cardiologist in the outpatient setting. If your care becomes more complex, you will have rapid access to the advanced programs at Intermountain Medical Center’s Heart Institute. This includes appointments with electrophysiologists, heart surgeons and heart failure specialists.

Four hospitals. Rapid diagnosis and transport for heart attack patients.

Heart attack symptoms need immediate attention. When you arrive at one of our emergency departments, you will go through a rapid intake process carefully designed to quickly identify heart attacks. Specialty care can be provided with rapid transport from LDS Hospital, Alta View, or Riverton to the Heart Institute at Intermountain Medical Center. Our heart attack response times, including transport, are well below national averages and benchmarks.

Four hospitals. One team of heart specialists.

Intermountain’s Salt Lake hospitals are covered by one team of excellent cardiologists with outstanding skills and outcomes. Because the same heart specialists see patients at each hospital, you can be certain the best care is right where you are. Watch the videos below to meet just a few of our heart specialists.
