Intermountain Homecare’s mission provides children and adults with the specialized health care they need, regardless of their ability to pay. Our legacy of caring continues after more than twenty five years of service.

Intermountain Homecare is a team of nearly 800 employees providing skilled nursing, hospice, pharmacy and infusion services, medical equipment, respiratory care, oxygen, customized wheelchairs, and rehabilitation services to thousands of patients in the privacy and comfort of their homes.

Our teams of doctors, nurses, pharmacists, therapists, in-home technicians, and volunteers provide care to patients throughout Utah and southern Idaho.

Today many in our communities face the stark reality of reduced or disappearing healthcare benefits. As the Intermountain area’s premier not-for-profit Homecare provider, our responsibility to those with reduced capacity increases dramatically with each reduction of insurance benefits or increase in premium. In the last year alone our charity care provided to the community increased 27% from $2.9 million to $3.7 million.

In 2008 Intermountain Homecare cared for more than 1,000 pediatric patients. Of these children, 263 (26%) received charity and unreimbursed care totaling approximately $1 million with 25 of these children accounting for 89% of the total charity and unreimbursed dollars.

These patients include seriously ill newborns, children with catastrophic illnesses, complicated neurological and medical conditions, devastating and debilitating injuries, and children facing life-limiting or terminal diseases. Our clinicians and staff have the privilege of providing care to children of all ages with needs ranging from routine nursing care to technologically dependent children requiring feeding tubes, ventilators, oxygen, and custom designed wheelchairs.

Intermountain Homecare is committed to providing vital homecare services to children and their families. The Foundation for Homecare & Hospice and generous community support of the Homecare for Kids campaign enables Intermountain Homecare to provide much needed services to these very special children.

Through 2012, the Homecare for Kids campaign will raise support for children in our communities who require vital Homecare services and lack adequate health insurance coverage. The Homecare for Kids campaign will touch the lives of children and families in need, far into the future by ensuring the health and well-being of children today, regardless of their ability to pay.

We are proud to introduce you to three of these remarkable children Tristan, Brianna, and Parker.
