The Central Laboratory Patient Access team is the beginning of the billing process. Their work is the first step that occurs before an account can be used. The department consists of 24 employees that provide 24/7 service. Information sent to the Patient Access from clinics and physician offices is used to create individual patient accounts. The team constantly updates patient demographic and insurance information in the hospital computer system to provide accurate information to the billing department.
