Beaver Ambulance Service
Beaver Utah is the birthplace of Butch Cassidy, home of the “Best Tasting Water in the USA” and the newest Ski Resort in Utah, Eagle Point. Beaver is located in South Central Utah, next to I-15; 20 miles south of the I-70 Junction. Beaver Ambulance has been serving its citizens – numbering 2,500 – and guests of Beaver for thirty-three years.
Beaver Ambulance is under Beaver Fire District #1 and licensed as an EMT-Intermediate Service. There are three part-time positions: the Director, Assistant Director and Training Officer. All EMT employees are on call, paid EMT’s, which include 14 Intermediates and 10 Basics all of whom respond from home and/or work. Two EMT-I”s have been responding to Ambulance and Fire calls for over thirty years. EMT’s work closely with local Fire, SAR, Sheriff’s Deputies and Beaver Valley Hospital. Call volume is approximately 340 per year, serving an area of 870 sq. miles. The agency has four Ambulances, one Quick Response unit and one UTV for off-road patient transport and rescue.
Beaver Ambulance responds to a variety of needs ranging from high-speed traffic injuries on I-15, farm accidents, medical, mountain/back country ATV, hiking and lake accidents to skiing and snowboarding incidents. Many of these calls lead to ground transports to hospitals from Las Vegas to Salt Lake City and just about anywhere in-between. Of course, Life Flight calls are some of our favorite!
Our ambulance agency loves to be part of community service, giving locals opportunities to learn about EMS. We visit pre-schools, offer CPR and First Aid training to local schools and businesses and take part in several local community events. We participate in Shop with a Cop and Festival of Trees for Primary Children’s Medical Center.
Positive, fun, quality training is our main focus. Giving the patient the best possible care within our skill level is our constant concern. Our EMT’s like to play just as hard as they work. We all look forward to our annual Spring Golf Scrambles, and annual Christmas party.
Life Flight recognizes the outstanding contribution and commitment of the men and woman of all EMS agencies who volunteer their time and services to their communities. Beaver Ambulance Service is a unique organization serving rural Utah. We appreciate the opportunity to work with them and thank them for their committed service.
