Facial Fracture Repair (Craniofacial trauma)

Patients who have suffered any form of fracture to the face are in good hands at Salt Lake City's Avenues Specialty Clinic. Dr. Reuben is well-trained in performing minor or significant reconstructive surgery to correct facial injuries or fractures. Using specialized techniques, Dr. Reuben can transplant a flap of tissue or use artificial materials to replace or repair facial skin, muscle, or bone.

Botox and Fillers

Botox injecting is among the most widely performed cosmetic procedures in both Utah and the United States. Botox is FDA-approved for many uses in the face, including glabellar creases and wrinkles.  It can also be effectively used to treat crow's feet, frown lines, forehead wrinkles, and other creases and wrinkles.

There are many types of fillers, which are materials injected into the skin to smoothen wrinkles or to lift skin pockets caused by acne. Collagen and many newer generations of fillers have all received FDA approval for treatment of facial wrinkles. Hyaluronic acid fillers such as Restylane, Juvederm, and Juvaderm Ultra Plus are the most widely used dermal fillers.

Dr. Reuben offers facelift surgery in a few variations. Some patients may prefer a lift of the full face as well as the neck. For other patients, a "short scar" or "mini face lift" achieves a great result. The aim of facelift surgery is to return the face to a youthful yet natural appearance. Facelift surgery is often combined with other facial procedures such as brow lift, eyelid surgery, neck liposuction, or fat grafting to create a cohesive, all-around youthful appearance in the face and neck.

Eye Lift (Blepharoplasty)

An eye lift, or blepharoplasty, remodels eyelids and the general eye area. Patients undergo an eye lift or eyelid surgery to remove loose skin and wrinkles, or in some cases to correct obstructed vision. The incisions from Dr. Reuben's eye lifts are located in less noticible places, such as in the upper eyelid and just below the eyelashes. An eye lift is a safe procedure that enhances the youthfulness and "brightness" of the eyes.

Brow Lift

As we age, the effect of gravity lowers the eyebrows. This causes surrounding wrinkles to deepen and increases the volume of the upper eyelids. It can even reduce a person's field of vision. Brow lifts are commonly performed on both women and men. The procedure not only lifts the brow, but also makes the upper eyelid skin tighter. It can also reduce wrinkles between the eyebrows. Dr. Reuben's brow lift gives the face a natural, youthful contour while avoiding the “surprised” look that some brow lifts cause.

Nose Job (Rhinoplasty)

Rhinoplasty or a "nose job" can work wonders for the self-esteem of someone who is self-conscious about the size or shape of his or her nose. However, it can have a significant effect on breathing and should only be performed by a plastic surgeon with an intimate knowledge of the anatomy and physiology of the nose. Septoplasty is often combined with rhinoplasty to improve breathing.

Ear Pinning (Otoplasty)

Many children and adults feel self-conscious about large ears or ears that protrude noticeably. Children with large or protruding ears often endure significant teasing, and they may continue to feel uncomfortable with their ears through adulthood.

Ear pinning is used to reduce the size of larger ears, set protruding ears closer to the head, or both. Ear pinning is most often performed on children over age 4 or on young adolescents. It is not recommended for children age 3 and younger because their ears are still developing.
