Dr. Ramirez is an expert in the cosmetic procedures and surgical techniques of the face. He completed his specialty training in one of the country's top programs in Head and Neck Surgery at UCSF and then completed his subspecialty fellowship training in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery with two of the nation’s most prominent Facial Plastic Surgeons at UCSF. He is also one of the few hair transplant surgeons who has completed a recognized fellowship by the International Society for Hair Restoration Surgery in Hair Transplantation.
Thyroid and Parathyroid Surgery
Prior to coming to Utah, Dr. Alexander Ramirez was one of the chief endocrine surgeons at Kaiser Hawaii. He is trained in the most advanced techniques in endocrine surgery, including traditional approaches as well as minimally invasive and endoscopic approaches to the thyroid and parathyroid with nerve monitoring. He works closely with his endocrinology colleagues to give comprehensive care to these patients.
Nasal Surgery & Endoscopic Sinus Surgery
Educated in both functional and cosmetic aspects of nasal surgery, Dr. Alexander Ramirez is exceptionally trained in dealing with nasal and sinus issues. He is particularly experienced in advanced techniques that address form and function, such as:

Surgical Therapy for Sleep Apnea
Surgical therapy for sleep apnea draws on Dr. Ramirez's advanced training in resections and reconstructions for head and neck cancers, and it also draws on his specialty training in Facial Plastic Surgery. Dr. Ramirez focuses on nasal, oral and tongue base procedures that help address the primary sites of obstruction in the nasopharynx, oropharynx, and hypopharynx.
Facial Repair and Reconstruction
Dr. Ramirez is married to dermatologist Lori Ramirez, MD. They work together to provide comprehensive care to patients with cutaneous malignancy of the head and neck. Dr. Alexander Ramirez has a particular interest in repairing the facial defects after cancer ablation so that the scars are minimal, function is preserved, and cosmetics are maximized.

Dr. Ramirez conducted his fellowship with two of the nation's most prominent Facial Surgeons. He also enjoyed a private practice that focused primarily on cosmetic and plastic surgery. His expertise is centered on rejuvenation of the aging face using procedures such as:
