We offer full treatment for epilepsy, including inpatient video EEG monitoring, outpatient EEG, medication management, and counseling.
Intermountain Medical Center’s Epilepsy Program is one of the leading adult epilepsy programs in the intermountain west. The Epilepsy Program team includes two Fellowship trained epileptologists, an epilepsy nurse practitioner, experienced neurosurgeons, neuroradiologists, neuropsychologists, and a dedicated team of nurses, nursing assistants and EEG technologists. This program provides patients ages 12 and up with the opportunity for comprehensive evaluation and diagnosis of their epilepsy.
Our experienced and caring team of doctors and medical professionals provides a comprehensive approach to the diagnosis and management of seizure disorders including skilled medication management, epilepsy surgery evaluations and implantation and programming of Vagal Nerve Stimulator Therapy. We strive to provide patient-centric and individualized care that enables each patient to find the treatment plan that works best for them.
The epilepsy clinic is located on the campus of Intermountain Medical Center, in the South Office Building. The Video-EEG monitoring unit is a 5-bed unit located on the 14th floor of Intermountain Medical Center and features state-of-the-art, all-digital video-EEG equipment. The Adult Epilepsy Unit is staffed by experienced neuro-nurses and EEG technologists specializing in adult epilepsy, and is overseen by our dedicated team of epileptologists and the epilepsy nurse practitioner.
Other special services for patients with epilepsy include sophisticated neuroimaging with advanced high-resolution 3T magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), magnetic resonance spectroscopy (MRS), ictal single-photon-emission computed tomography (SPECT), positron emission tomography (PET), and magnetoencephalography (MEG).
