We will keep you updated on the latest developments in Salt Lake Clinic's construction project. Feel free to ask us a question about the project as well.
The largest construction project ever undertaken by Intermountain Medical Group sits on the corner of 400 South and 900 East near downtown Salt Lake City. Once completed, the new Salt Lake Clinic will feature 130,000 square feet of medical offices and will house more than 50 doctors.
The new Salt Lake Clinic will provide primary care services, medical sub specialties, surgical specialists, an InstaCare, comprehensive radiology services, and an on-site independent laboratory. Intermountain Home Health, Intermountain Physical Therapy, Healthcare Credit Union and Utah Cancer Specialists will also occupy space within the new building. The new Salt Lake Clinic construction began in March 2011.
Construction Updates and Photos
February 2013: Phase III is underway. Here is the schedule for demolition of the old building:
- Week 1 (Feb 4-10) - “Soft demolition” will begin with the interior and exterior skin. A section of the building on the North side will be removed to allow for interior demolition. Exterior demolition will start with the Northeast corner of the building and proceed to the South, West and eventually to the East removing the exterior skin.
- Week 2 (Feb 11-17) - Continue Interior “Soft demolition” and exterior skin.
- Week 3 (Feb 18-24) - Continue Interior “Soft demolition” and exterior skin.
- Week 4 (Feb 25 - Mar 3) - Demolition of main structure (concrete and steel columns, concrete floors, etc…)
- Week 5 (Mar 4-10) - Demolition of basement area.
During the weekdays work will commence at 7:00 a.m. and end at 5:30 p.m. During the first two weeks of the project work will not be performed on Saturday and Sunday. During weeks 3-5 work may occur on Saturdays.
Initially dump trucks will enter the property off of 300 South and exit onto 900 East. As the demolition moves South and West, trucks will likely enter off of 900 East and exit onto 300 South. The demolition process may take additional time to sort and identify the building materials that can be recycled.
Please check the website frequently as the schedule and working hours may change.
