Juvederm® is a hyaluronic acid filler, along with Hydrelle® and Restylane®. It is part of the “next generation” of FDA approved dermal fillers. Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring substance in your skin that helps add volume and hydration to your tissues.
Besides being safer than collagen, it provides a smooth, natural contour and feel. Juvederm is gently injected under the skin into the mid to deep dermis to smooth away facial wrinkles and folds. It is particularly good with “static” wrinkles, or ones which are present even when the face is relaxed. The effects generally last 9-12 months.
