Riverton Hospital Officially Opens its Doors This Morning – First Patients Roll in Early
RIVERTON, UT (11/1/2009) – Residents in the southwest valley have a new option for medical care: Riverton Hospital, Intermountain Healthcare’s newest hospital, officially opened its doors to patients and visitors at 6 am this morning.
“This has been a much anticipated day,” says Blair Kent, administrator of Riverton Hospital. “We’ve prepared, trained, run drills and now, all of that preparation will come to fruition when we’re finally able to treat our first patients.”
Located just off Bangerter Highway and 12600 South, Riverton Hospital provides southwest valley residents with access to a full range of clinical services from outpatient radiology to general surgery to women’s and birthing services. The campus includes a four-story hospital, a four-story Primary Children’s Medical Center outpatient facility and a four-story physician office building.
“Our staff has so much passion for what they do,” says Kent. “I know that every single patient that comes to our hospital will be treated and treated well. Our community is in great hands.”
Services include 58 private patient rooms, 24-hour emergency services, five state-of-the-art operating rooms, general medical/surgical care, and full-service imaging and diagnostic services.
Primary Children’s Medical Center brings its reputation for exceptional pediatric care to residents in the southwest valley by operating, for the first time, a separate outpatient facility. The Primary Children’s outpatient building includes an outpatient surgical center, radiology services, pediatric subspecialty care, and other satellite outpatient services.
The physician’s office building includes obstetric and gynecology services, outpatient imaging, outpatient laboratory services, physician offices, a retail pharmacy that will also operate four pharmacy kiosks throughout the campus, and an InstaCare/KidsCare.
