With Tree Planting Ceremony to Commemorate Successful First Year

WHAT:

On Tuesday, Nov. 2, Riverton Hospital and Primary Children’s Outpatient Services at Riverton will celebrate their first anniversary by planting a tree with former patients to commemorate a successful first year of providing care to patients in Salt Lake’s southwest valley.

Riverton Hospital and Primary Children’s Outpatient Services opened their doors on November 2, 2009. In just one year, Riverton Hospital has cared for over 48,000 patients, had over 17,982 visits to the Emergency Department, and welcomed 1,908 babies into the world. Primary Children’s has performed over 2,200 surgeries and nearly 7,000 imaging procedures that would have otherwise had to take place on their main campus nearly 30 miles away. Together, they have saved patients who would have otherwise had to travel 30 minutes or more to receive treatment an estimated 30,000 hours in travel time.
