The Community Benefit Department within Intermountain is highly dedicated to our mission of providing quality care to persons with a medical need, regardless of ability to pay. To fulfill that mission, the Community Benefit Department provides a number of services in efforts to meet the needs of the uninsured and under-served populations in the greater Salt Lake area.

Helping Those in Need
We help to meet the health care needs of those who are under-served, through the following efforts:
- Community and school clinics.
- Foundation grants for primary health care activities that further the mission of Intermountain.
- Intermountain Community Care Foundation grants to community health centers and homeless clinics.
- Coordinate volunteer service provided by Intermountain employees to community agencies.
- Training and consultation on healthy community initiatives.
- Meet the health care needs of low-income uninsured and homeless people through grants to clinics and referrals to Intermountain providers.
- Provide resource and referral information and training to develop community partnerships.
- Coordinate humanitarian donations of surplus equipment and furniture to non-profit agencies.
- Establish collaborative partnerships with community agencies.
- Consult with agencies and providers to address the needs of the underserved.
- Identify collaborative models and measures of success in addressing health care needs of the underserved within community.
