Salt Lake City Intermountain Healthcare has again been ranked as the one of the nation's top integrated health systems, receiving the second highest score in an annual study of healthcare organizations.
The ranking was announced in the February 5 issue of Modern Healthcare magazine. The study was conducted by Verispan, a Pennsylvania-based health information company, and examined nearly 600 health systems around the nation. The annual list, now in its tenth year, rates local and regional healthcare systems on factors such as clinical quality, operations, efficiency, and breadth of services. Intermountain has rated first in five of the last eight years (2000, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005), and second three times (2001, 2006, 2007).
