Salt Lake City —Intermountain Healthcare has launched a new resource for Utahns who want to better understand the state's healthcare system. UtahHealthFacts.org is an educational website linking visitors to independent research on medical costs, quality, and access.

The site—designed with business owners, legislators, journalists, citizens, and community leaders in mind—provides a one-stop-shop of research, studies and other health policy resources. It is intended to help reformers find local solutions to the challenges facing America's medical system.

Intermountain Healthcare provides support for UtahHealthFacts.org, but the site's content comes primarily from sources outside Intermountain, including the Kaiser Family Foundation, Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, the Department of Health and Human Services, the Joint Commission, and the Institute for Healthcare Improvement.

UtahHealthFacts.org also offers a snapshot of organizations involved in Utah's healthcare system, with direct links to the websites of those organziations. It provides links that compare the cost and quality at medical facilities around the state, and allows residents to more easily learn about local and national reform proposals.

The new site also offers resources and links for advocates and other Utahns who are working to improve access to medical care for people without insurance.
