Sandy, UT Becky Kapp has been named the new administrator of Intermountain Healthcare's Alta View Hospital in Sandy.

Kapp replaces Tim Bricker who has accepted a position with a healthcare system in Oregon.

"This is like coming home," says Kapp. "I was at Alta View Hospital for two years as a nursing administrator and this job feels like going home again. My focus will be on building relationships with the staff, physicians, and the community, maintaining our excellent standards of patient care, and helping Alta View continue to be a wonderful resource for the community."

Kapp started her career at Intermountain Healthcare in 1973. Her first job after nursing school was at Primary Children's Medical Center. She spent 21 years at Lakeview Hospital in Bountiful, where she filled clinical and management roles in intensive care medicine and skilled nursing - and was the hospital's chief clinical officer for four years. In 2000 she rejoined Intermountain in Quality Resources, then worked as director of care management until she was named Alta View's nurse administrator. For the past two years she has served as an operating officer for Intermountain's Alta View, Cottonwood, TOSH, and LDS hospitals.

Kapp holds a bachelor's degree and master's in business administration from the University of Phoenix and an associate's degree in nursing from Ricks College.

"Becky has a wonderful understanding of our patients and of our team, and her background in nursing and her excellent people skills make her very effective in meeting our challenges today and in the future. We are thrilled to have her in this new role," says H. Gary Pehrson, chief executive officer of Intermountain's urban central region hospitals.
