Stork Savers Program
The Intermountain Stork Savers Program has been created especially for families with no maternity insurance coverage, or who have coverage for the baby only. The Stork Savers Programs are designed to help self-pay families in our community access high quality maternity services at a lower fixed price.

Stork Savers offers a variety of packages; there are packages providing prenatal, delivery and postpartum care with a Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) and several packages for hospital care during and after an uncomplicated vaginal birth or for a planned, uncomplicated C-section delivery.

Arrangements to participate in the Stork Savers Programs must be made before the birth of your baby. Payments may be made throughout your pregnancy but must be paid in full prior to delivery for the prenatal packages and upon hospital discharge for the hospital care packages.

Midwifery Prenatal Stork Savers
The Midwifery Prenatal Stork Savers is for those families who have high insurance deductibles or no maternity coverage, do not qualify for Medicaid and have not previously had a C-section birth. The Midwifery Stork Savers covers routine prenatal and postpartum office visits and CNM delivery charges. It does not include lab work, ultrasounds, vitamins or medications, or hospital care charges.

The CNMs at Intermountain Nurse-Midwives have been attending births at LDS Hospital since 1988. We work very closely with the maternal-fetal medicine physicians at LDS Hospital as a referral source for any higher risk developments during pregnancy. The CNM Stork Saver Program is currently available only at LDS Hospital.

Intermountain Hospital Stork Savers Programs
Intermountain Hospital Stork Savers Programs include time, supplies and nursing care for the mother and baby. These services are provided in the Labor and Delivery and Maternity units for the mother in Well-Baby Nursery for the baby. Each package also has an option designed for those who do have insurance coverage for the baby.

Stork Savers I covers uncomplicated vaginal birth with a 24-hour stay after delivery.
Stork Savers II covers uncomplicated vaginal birth with a 48-hour stay after delivery.
Stork Savers III provides care for planned uncomplicated C-section birth with a 72-hour stay after delivery.

The Intermountain Hospital Stork Savers packages do not include physician or CNM fees, epidural anesthesia costs or additional procedures – such as tubal ligation. The hospital portion of the Stork Saver Programs is available at LDS Hospital, Cottonwood Hospital and Alta View Hospital.
