Provo, UtahProvo radiologist Bruce McIff, MD, is the latest recipient of Intermountain Healthcare's Beacon of Hope Award for his work in bettering the lives of Utah County residents. Dr. McIff, who is a former president of the medical staff at Utah Valley Regional Medical Center, has played a role in developing a number of programs at the hospital, including heart surgery, cancer therapy, interventional radiology and a comprehensive stroke program. In addition to his clinical work, Dr. McIff has been active in the community, serving as president of both the BYU Alumni Association and the Cougar Club. He also served for a number of years as a member of the admissions committee for the University of Utah School of Medicine. Dr. McIff has also served in various leadership capacities in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. "Dr. McIff is a giant in our community. He has done much to make Utah Valley Regional Medical Center the hospital is it today. And his influence extends in many directions throughout the valley. This award is certainly a fitting honor for him," said David Clark, Intermountain regional vice president. The Beacon of Hope Award is given quarterly by the regional Governing Board to Utah County residents who have made a difference in the health and well-being of the community.
