St. George, Utah—

The public is invited to attend the Vascular Program Open House at Dixie Regional Medical Center on Sept. 24 from 3-7 p.m on the second level concourse of Dixie Regional's River Road Campus. The open house will feature the program partners of the Vascular Program, as well as free screenings for Peripheral Vascular Disease (PVD).

The Vascular Program is new to Dixie Regional Medical Center, though most of the program partners are not. The program combines the expertise of several hospital departments to better care for patients who suffer from vascular disease and conditions related to vascular disease. The program partners who will be at the open house are: Vascular Services, Diabetes Clinic, Dietitians, Rehabilitation Services (Acute Rehabilitation, Exercise Physiology, Physical Therapy), Wound Care, Hyperbaric Medicine, Stroke Team, Infusion Therapy, Community Health Information Center, and PRIME Senior Services. Information will be available regarding each of these services.

Michael D. Khoury, MD, is a vascular surgeon and medical director of the Vascular Program at Dixie Regional Medical Center. Fairly new to Dixie Regional, Dr. Khoury brought two new services to the St. George area: abdominal aortic aneurysm repair with aortic stent grafting; and carotid stenosis repair with carotid stent grafting. Each of these services is in addition to, and not replacing, the traditional open surgical procedures.
