Behavioral Medicine

The Behavioral Medicine Unit offers a therapeutic setting for treatment of such problems as acute depression, incapacitating anxiety and severe thought disorders. Behavioral Medicine programs are designed to offer short-term stabilization and treatment for adults in mental or emotional crisis. Adolescents may be admitted for evaluation with clinical director approval. Duration of treatment ranges from 3-14 days with an average stay being approximately 4 days. The staff in the DRMC Behavioral Medicine Unit are committed to care for all in an honest, confidential, cooperative and nonjudgmental way. The team of doctors, nurses, social workers, and counselors provides personalized care and treatment for each patient, and works closely with the patient's family and loved ones.
