How Your Donation to Hospice Makes a Difference
During this time of increasing costs, significant increases in need for charitable care and declining insurance reimbursement, our need for community support and fundraising continues to grow. Unless specifically designated, all hospice donations support the areas of greatest need in each local community.

Funding needs fall into four specific categories:
  1. Program Support
Volunteer program, bereavement and caregiver support, memorial services, patient and family education materials, lending library and specialized medical equipment and supplies.
  2. Advancement of Clinical Expertise and Specialized Staff Training
Educational seminars, conferences, workshops, continuing education.
  3. Community Education Programs
Community health fairs, seminars, presentations, educational materials, newsletters, brochures, displays, mailings and media campaigns.
  4. Charity Care
Funding of services for patients who are either under insured or uninsured. Intermountain Hospice services are provided regardless of ability to pay.

Charity Care – A Growing Need
In 2002, Intermountain Hospice provided charity care to fifty-one patients and their families, totaling $200,962; averaging $3864 per patient. The need for charity care will rise significantly for current and future needs.

  3. Memorial Giving
A gift which honors a loved one's life and serves to reflect upon the memories that live forever. Many families establish a memorial fund in memory of their loved ones, by requesting donations to Intermountain Homecare Hospice 'in lieu of flowers.' This request is often included in the obituary and coordinated with the funeral home director. Additional donation envelopes are available upon request.
  4. Honor Giving
A gift made in honor of an individual, recognizes a person who has had a special impact on your life or may celebrate a special occasion.
  5. Corporate Giving: "Caring Corporate Partners"
    • Annual cash donation and/or pledge for future donations, which coincides with the corporation's budgeted charitable/philanthropic objectives. Corporate partners may choose to support specific or general funding needs.
    • Employee Giving Program: Corporate partner employees may contribute through either one time annual donations or through an ongoing payroll deduction. Corporate partners may choose to match employee contributions.
    • Employees may conduct approved fundraising events such as bake sales, prize drawings, garage sales or dinners.
