Intellectual Asset Management

What We Do

IAM was established to convert Intermountain's and its employee's ideas and know-how into healthcare products and services that are consistent with the institution's mission, image, and reputation. In addition to the creation of new and useful products and services for the benefit of public community, this could lead to additional revenue to further support medical research and clinical practice at Intermountain.

General activities of IAM include:

Assist physicians, investigators and other employees with their inventions.
Assist physicians, investigators and other employees with their interactions with industry partners.
Provide input for Intermountain contracts involving intellectual property.

Overall benefits of IAM for Intermountain and its employees:

Ensures that the results of Intermountain research are used to benefit patients and the general public
Encourages and promotes innovations within Intermountain
Rewards and supports physicians, investigators and employees
Strengthen relationships with industry and enhance opportunities for sponsored research
