Pharmacy
The pharmacists on the transplant team are responsible for medication education. Patients are taught the names of each medication, the purpose of each medication, how to take each medication and the potential side effects of each medication.
Full time charity coordinators area available to help you find medications so you'll never be without the medicine you need. We are also involved in an active support group, Rocky Mountain Support Group.
The tools we use to help patients take their medication properly:
- Medication boxes to serve as a reminder of when medications should be taken
- Pictures of the medications to aid in the identification of medications
- Patient dosing calendars to outline the dose
- The time of day and how often a medication is to be given
We serve as a drug information source to our patients after transplant. We answer all questions about side effects, drug interactions and appropriateness of medication use to our patients.
