Intermountain Medical Center

When you are not able to be at the hospital, please feel free to call your loved one's nurse, day or night, for an update. Families from out-of-town can make special arrangements through Social Services to communicate on a regular basis with the nurse.

NOTE: For the protection of our younger patients, information will be given to parents only after verifying identity, with the special code number assigned to each child at admittance.

Carepages

CarePages are free, private Web pages that help patients and loved ones stay in touch and provide support. Families can post updates, pictures, contact information and visiting hours in one virtual meeting place for others to see whenever it's convenient.

Gift Shop

The gift shop, located near the main elevators in the J. L. Sorenson Patient Tower and in the lobby of the Carolyn Barnes Gardner Women & Newborn Center, is operated by Intermountain Medical Center’s Volunteers. A wide variety of cards, flowers, gifts, reading material, candy, etc. is available, with all proceeds benefiting hospital programs and services. Stamps and bus passes are also available from the gift shop.

Gift shop hours: Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Saturday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Closed on Sundays. If you would like to send flowers or other gifts to a patient, contact the Gift Shop at (801) 507-5130 or 507-7476 to place an order.

Cafeteria

Our hospital has a cafeteria where a selection of entrees, snacks, sandwiches, salads, desserts and beverages are prepared for patients and staff. Visiting family members can be accommodated when necessary; please check with the hospital staff. The cafeteria is located on Level One of the J. L. Sorenson Patient Tower and is open 24-hours-a-day.

Social Services

Medical social workers are available to help you and your family members. They can provide counseling, help loved ones better understand your medical care needs, and help plan your discharge and return home. The social work staff can also assist with housing, transportation or help in providing other assistance you may need. For assistance in contacting a social worker, contact the nursing station.

Patient Relations

Our staff is available to assist with any aspect of your stay. The staff wants to know if you have concerns about such things as the cleanliness and comfort of your room, the quality of your meals, and if you receive courteous and prompt care from our employees. If you have questions about your treatment or room accommodations, contact the nursing station anytime, or call administration through the main hospital number at (801) 507-7000, weekdays 8 a.m.-5 p.m.

Clergy & Pastoral Care

Our hospital works with local religious leaders to help meet the spiritual needs of patients and family members. If you or your family would like information about services, or if you want a member of the clergy to visit, contact the nursing station.

Translation Services

Language translation services are available for patients and visitors with limited English proficiency, including signing for the hearing impaired. A Spanish speaking interpreter - who can also provide interpretation for other languages by telephone - is stationed in the northwest corner of the hospital’s lobby weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Call 507-7000. For language assistance at other times, including signing, contact the hospital operator by dialing “0.”
