LDS Hospital cardiologist, community leader to be honored for their efforts to improve community health

Salt Lake CityDr. Jeffery L. Anderson, associate chief of cardiology at LDS Hospital, and former Murray City Mayor Lynn F. Pett will be honored next week for their efforts to improve the health of the community.

AMCIUS, the membership club of The Deseret Foundation, which raises funds for medical research and education at Intermountain Healthcare's Salt Lake area hospitals, will present Dr. Anderson and Mayor Pett as 2006 Golden Caduceus recipients. The event will be held on Thursday, Feb. 16, at the Little America Hotel at 6:30 p.m.

"Dr. Anderson and Mayor Pett are very deserving recipients for this honor because of their commitment to ensuring the highest level of health care is available to residents of the Salt Lake Valley," said Linda Lou Bennett, AMICUS President.

The Golden Caduceus awards are presented annually ny Amicus to individuals who have made significant contributions to the health and well-being of the residents of the Salt Lake Valley.

Dr. Anderson is a nationally-recognized cardiac researcher and author of numerous heart studies. Pett is active in healthy community groups throughout the Salt Lake Valley that help increase the health and wellness of communities and residents.
