Transplant team

Patients undergoing treatment through the Intermountain Blood and Marrow Transplant program are admitted to the LDS hospital for their care. There are many people helping with the patient's care. Together, with the patient and their family, they make up the transplant team.

The Intermountain Blood and Marrow Transplant program uses mid level providers to assist in the day-to-day care of each patient. These providers are extensively trained in bone marrow transplant and do not service any other specialty. The program does not integrate medical students or residents for the care of their patients.

At the Intermountain Blood and Marrow Transplant program, there are a group of coordinators that assist in the care coordination of each patient. You will be assigned a specific coordinator that will assist you through the entire transplant process. They are very knowledgeable about the transplant process and are a valuable resource for answers to questions:

In addition, there are a number of key players that help make up the rest of the transplant team. These staff members are essential in making sure the patients and their families get the most out of their transplant experience. We also have a group of experienced pharmacists, nutritional support and dietitians that have many years of transplant expertise.

The LDS Hospital houses a number of specialists that are committed to making each and every transplant a success. This includes radiation oncologists, pathologists, pulmonologists, gastroenterologists, cardiologists, and infectious disease specialists.
