BLS Healthcare Provider Re-Certification Marathon. Participants should come to class, having reviewed the text. They will be able to view the video if needed. Participants will rotate through stations where they can review and must pass-off skills (adult and pediatric CPR-1 & 2 - rescuer scenarios, use of the bag mask, foreign-body airway obstruction, and AED). Each will complete a written test to complete the renewal. Participant should be current patient care provider, EMS, PA, MD, Dentist, nurse, CNA or respiratory Therapist. Participants must have a current HCP BLS card, have access to a current HCP BLS Manual (before, during and after the class) and complete the BLS CBT prior to attending. BLS Instructor Certification. This course prepare potential AHA instructors to disseminate the philosophy, science and skills of resuscitation programs. It will offer instructor candidates the knowledge and skills to teach basic life support, and to refine their teaching presentation abilities. Two-Part program consists of 1 - Computerized Core Instructor Course (must be completed two days prior to class) 2 - Attendance in one-day class.Prerequisites: Current BLS certificate, submission of instructor candidate form two weeks prior to taking the Core Source, submission of a short statement outlining your purpose for becoming a BLS instructor and 2 letters of recommendation.New instructors will be required to align with an AHA training center, and must teach four courses within a 2 - year period to maintain their certification. This class will emphasize process in analysis of rhythms. Laddergrams will be used to assist in interpretation. EKG Color-Coded. Learn how to quickly look for signs of ischemia, injury and infarction on a EKG and to locate the affected area of the heart using Tim Carrick's" 12 Lead MI visual learning aid. Heartsaver First Aid/CPR/AED. This class teaches how to manage illness and injuries in the first few minutes until professional help arrives. Class covers topics pertaining to adult, children and infants. For the community member who seeks to be prepared to help in the event of an emergency. Training pertains to workplace, community or childcare situations. The AHA manual is required. This is a 2 year certification. Heartsaver First Aid/CPR/AED (Pediatric). This class teaches how to mange illness and injuries in a child in the first few minutes until professional help arrive. Topic includes first aid basics, medical emergencies, injury emergencies, environmental emergencies, optional first aid topics and CPR and AED. For those involved in child care who have a duty to respond to a first aid emergency because of job responsibilities or regulatory requirements, such as child care workers, teachers, foster care workers, camp counselors, youth organizations and coaches for childrens sports organizations. Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Certification. This is an advanced course designed to teach the student how to recognize infants and children at risk of cardiopulmonary arrest, to provide the student with strategies for preventing arrest, and to teach how to perform the cognitive and psychomotor skills for resuscitating and stabilizing infants and children in respiratory failure, shock, or cardiopulmonary arrest. The student should have a basic knowledge of cardiac and respiratory pathophysiology including basic ECG rhythmus and pharmacology. Participants may choose between a 12 week class or individual counseling sessions. The program addresses diet, activity, and behaviors to encourage weight loss through goal achieving. Weigh To Health Weight Loss Support Group. Monthly follow-up/support group class for one year. Those who are eligible can attend the Support Group class for free for 1 year after they completed the weight loss class. Others (those who have not completed the weight loss class) can be put a waiting list. We will open the class to those on the waiting list 2 weeks before the class date for a cost of $7.00 each.
