McKay-Dee Hospital

Newborn Intensive Care Unit (NICU)
Rest assured, if your baby is born premature or sick, our NICU is ready to care for your baby's needs. With a 99 percent survival rate of babies admitted to McKay-Dee's NICU, we are ranked among the top 10 percent of hospitals internationally by the Vermont-Oxford network. Our qualified staff has been specially trained to care for premature and sick newborns.

Our NICU is designed and ready to provide the service, technology, staff, and care that babies need. We have a 22 bed, Level 3 NICU with three neonatologists, two nurse practitioners, and a staff of qualified RNs, respiratory therapists, and CNAs who have been specially trained to care for premature and sick newborns. A NICU nurse attends all normal as well as high-risk deliveries in our transition nursery. Here, babies are stabilized for several hours, which gives both the baby and the mother time to physically adjust.

Perinatology
Northern Utah's largest Perinatal Service Center is at McKay-Dee. Our perinatologists specialize in diagnosing and treating high-risk pregnancies, and can test and treat moms-to-be months before the baby is born. We are the only center in northern Utah with onsite perinatology every day of the week.
