Provo, UtahBrigham Young University Vice President Sandra Rogers, DNSc, has been appointed to the regional governing board for Intermountain Healthcare, which oversees facilities and programs in Utah County.

Rogers, a former dean of the BYU College of Nursing, will be working with the Professional Standards Committee of the board, the group charged with reviewing and approving the applications of new physicians who are seeking privileges at Utah Valley Regional Medical Center, Orem Community Hospital and American Fork Hospital.

"We are fortunate to have Sandra Rogers joining our board. She brings an amazing clinical background, as well as strong administrative experience to our board. Her expertise will undoubtedly benefit our hospitals and the patients we serve," said Jane Carlile, board chair.

Rogers, who is the International Vice President for BYU, holds a bachelor's degree in nursing from BYU, a master's degree from the University of Arizona and a doctorate in nursing from the University of California San Francisco, with an emphasis in international/cross-cultural nursing. Early in her career, she was a nurse recruiter and charge nurse at Utah Valley Regional. A resident of Salem, she also serves on the board of Deseret Mutual Benefits Administrators (DMBA) and recently completed service on the executive committee of the Thrasher Research Fund and the Deseret International Foundation.
