Our Charity Mission
Primary Children's Medical Center is owned and operated by Intermountain Healthcare, a charitable, community-owned, nonprofit health care organization based in Salt Lake. Primary Children's Medical Center serves the needs of children in the states of Utah, Idaho, Wyoming, Nevada and Montana. Its charity care program has been an integral part of the hospital's mission since its founding in 1922 and is available to its patients from its five-state service area. Children from other states or countries may apply for charity care consideration and will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

During 2001, in more than 105,000 cases, Intermountain Healthcare hospitals and associated clinics provided $37 million in charitable assistance. Over $9 million in charity care was given to patients of Primary Children's. In addition, physicians on the staff of Primary Children's accept and treat children at no charge who have been accepted into the hospital's charity care program.

Those wanting information about financial assistance at Primary Children's are invited to call the hospital business office at (801) 662-3800 and ask for a financial counselor.
