Job Title: Internship Opportunity

Job Description: Internships primarily emphasize the implementation of various Acceleration training techniques to athletes. Interns will gain both the knowledge and theory surrounding the Frappier Acceleration Sport Training program, along with first-hand program implementation to a variety of athletes. Program implementation will consist of 1) speed development training on the Super Treadmill with additional ground-based supplementation, 2) various plyometric exercises, and 3) additional resistance training exercises. Interns will also be supervised and independently responsible for the proper adjustment of protocols according to an athlete(s) skill, physical capabilities, and sport-specific requirements. Secondary responsibilities will include charting notes for athletes with minimal office and cleaning duties.

Job Qualifications: Students currently pursuing or already possessing a degree in Exercise Science, Sports Medicine or other related fields are preferred. Applicants should possess a positive attitude, energetic, willing to both learn and teach with excellent communication skills. Knowledge of sprint mechanics, speed, agility and quickness drills, resistance training techniques, and previous experience training athletes of all ages are a plus.

Job Availability: All semesters available: Winter-Spring, Summer, and Fall for 2006. However, intern and/ or volunteer positions are not temporally restricted to the start or finish of a semester/quarter academic schedule. Work requirements will be determined by credit requirements or availability.
