Utah Valley Regional Medical Center
How are IHC hospitals in Utah County getting involved in the community? Take a look and see.
Adopt-A-School Program
Each IHC hospital in Utah County has partnered with a local elementary school to assist in the education of at-risk students. Utah Valley Regional Medical Center works with Timpanogos Elementary in Provo, Orem Community Hospital works with Suncrest Elementary in Orem, and American Fork Hospital has teamed up with Greenwood Elementary in American Fork.
The programs at each school vary depending on employee involvement and need. Some of these include a mentor program, which is in place at Timpanogos Elementary, where IHC employee mentors dedicate one-on-one time each week to an assigned student. In addition, IHC sponsors health fairs where employees share their expertise and skills. Teachers also enjoy the annual grant program that supplies $1,000 to fund classroom projects. Last, but certainly not least, students share their artistic talents with the hospitals by the placement of their artwork on IHC's holiday and get well cards.
These partnerships help our hospitals better understand the health needs of children throughout our communities.
