Time is a critical factor in treating heart attacks. Board certified physicians who are specially trained to handle cardiac emergencies staff the emergency centers at American Fork Hospital and Orem Community Hospital, as well as Utah Valley Regional Medical Center. In cardiac emergencies, patients initially treated at American Fork or Orem can be transferred to Utah Valley Regional for more extensive treatment, when necessary.
