The Utah Valley Heart Center at Utah Valley Regional is designed to meet the needs of heart patients from central and southern Utah, through a team approach of coordinated care provided by highly skilled doctors, nurses, respiratory and exercise therapists, dieticians and social workers.

Heart surgery, at times, is the only way to re-establish blood flow to the heart or replace worn out heart valves. The surgical team at the Utah Valley Heart Center is led by outstanding doctors and supported by specially trained operating room staff working in specialized cardiothoracic suites.

Each surgical patient receives the benefit of having a team of specialists monitor his or her case, including expert surgeons, cardiac nurses, respiratory therapists, infection control specialists and pharmacists. These specialists have the latest research and most advanced technology available to help them direct treatment. Through the work of this team, the center has achieved excellent outcomes with a mortality rate for coronary artery bypass surgery that is among the lowest in the country.
