Utah Valley Regional Medical Center
The 39-bed, Level III Newborn Intensive Care Unit at Utah Valley Regional Medical Center practices family centered care, under the mission of "NICU as Home." Parents are an integral part of the health care team which also includes seven neonatologists, five neonatal nurse practitioners, pediatricians, specially-trained nurses and respiratory therapists, occupational therapists, dieticians, pharmacists, social workers and care management. Each baby is loved and cared for through primary care nursing, which includes individualized care as well as parent/care team conferences. Every precious patient also receives infant photos, foot and hand molds and a warm, hand-made quilt.
On our spacious unit, parents will find comfortable rocking chairs and privacy curtains around each patient area as well as beautiful views of Utah Valley. There is also a parent lounge that includes an individual locker for each family, breast pump rooms, computer access, sleep rooms and a kitchen area. We offer rooming in rooms that allow parents to spend time learning to care for their newborn prior to discharge. Our active Common Bonds Parent Association provides support and education to parents by other parents who have gone through a similar situation.
We are part of Intermountain's Neonatal Life Flight Team and service Utah communities south of the Point of the Mountain. When you and your little one need us, we'll be here.
