Pediatrics

The 33-bed Pediatric area of Utah Valley Regional Medical Center is dedicated to making a child's experience with hospitalization the best it can be. While the unit concentrates on treating the child, staff members are also concerned for the entire family unit and work to ease the disruption that naturally comes with a hospitalization. Each room is equipped for a parent to stay with the child at all times. There is also a parent lounge and two parent sleep rooms for families of more critical patients.

Our multi-disciplinary team is ready and waiting to address your child's healthcare needs. Physicians, respiratory therapists, physical therapists, child life specialists, dieticians, pharmacists, patient care managers and unit/nursing staff are each specially trained in pediatrics and eager to help your child.

Our unit has the capability to monitor your child visually via video camera and physiologically from the nursing stations. We also provide for "special care" patients who are more sick and require increased resources.

The unit includes two separate play areas for patients, from toddlers to teens. In these areas, children are supervised by our child life specialist and a group of dedicated volunteers. Our unit sports a bright mural, neon lights and decor of suns, moons and stars throughout, providing a fun and inviting environment for children.

Pediatrics/Pediatrics Special Care is located on the fourth floor of Utah Valley Regional's West Building.
