Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer

Laura S. Kaiser, FACHE, is Intermountain Healthcare's Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. Joining Intermountain in 2012, Kaiser is responsible for healthcare delivery and operations at the system’s facilities, Medical Group, Clinical Programs and Services, and the Institute for Healthcare Leadership.

Intermountain Healthcare is an integrated, not-for-profit health system serving communities in Utah and southern Idaho. Based in Salt Lake City, Intermountain consists of 22 not-for-profit hospitals, more than 200 clinics, a Medical Group with more than 1,300 employed physicians, a health plan with more than 720,000 covered lives and other health services. Intermountain is focused on helping people live their healthiest lives possible and is widely recognized as a leader in clinical quality improvement and healthcare delivery.

Prior to joining Intermountain, Kaiser was President and Chief Executive Officer of Sacred Heart Health System based in Pensacola, Florida, President of the Daughters of Charity Foundation, and Regional Executive for the Gulf Coast/Florida region of Ascension Health, the nation’s largest Catholic nonprofit healthcare organization. Kaiser has held leadership positions in a variety of settings, including health systems, community hospitals, physician practice management and national consulting firms.

A native of St. Louis, Missouri, Kaiser earned a Master of Business Administration and Master of Healthcare Administration degrees from Saint Louis University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Services Management from the University of Missouri. She currently serves on several boards including The Catholic Diocese of Salt Lake City Finance Council, Huntsman-Intermountain Cancer Care Program, the Salt Lake Chamber Board of Governors, the Scottsdale Institute, Westminster College, and the Women’s Leadership Institute.
