Board of Trustees

A. Scott Anderson joined the Intermountain Health Board of Trustees in 2005 and became Chair in 2012. He is President and Chief Executive Officer of Zions First National Bank, which he joined in 1990. Active in community affairs, he is currently serving on a number of business and non-profit boards. Scott has a bachelor’s degree in philosophy and economics from Columbia University in New York and a master’s in economics and international studies from Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland.

Jim Laub is President and Chief Executive Officer of Cache Valley Electric Company. Under his direction, Cache Valley Electric has been named Outstanding Electrical Contractor of the Year 13 times by the Intermountain Electrical Association. He received the Utah Sports Hall of Fame Distinguished Service Award in 2000 and was Utah Business Magazine’s CEO of the Year in 2010.

Jerry Allen is senior vice president of Technical Operations (TechOps) for Delta Air Lines and the director of maintenance, with the overall responsibility for the safety, administration, and maintenance execution in accordance with applicable federal aviation regulations.

In this role Jerry is responsible for driving the aircraft maintenance strategies for Technical Operations worldwide. He discharges and executes total oversight of maintenance operations for all fleets to meet all federal requirements, thus maintaining all operating airplanes in a safe and airworthy condition. In addition, he has the authority to make airworthiness and regulatory compliance decisions related to Delta’s maintenance program.

Jerry is an industry veteran with 35 years of service with Delta. He leads more than 6,000 employees and is in charge of directing Delta's excellent daily reliability and performance results. He has been instrumental in driving Delta’s industry-leading performance and maintenance operations solutions.

In his early years at Delta, Jerry gained valuable experience in Technical Operations in various capacities, including leading the day-to-day aircraft maintenance operations at Delta’s Salt Lake City and Atlanta hubs. He has steadily advanced through numerous positions of expanded responsibilities and has been vice president since April 2016.

Rob Allen is president and CEO of Intermountain Health, a leading nonprofit health system headquartered in Utah with locations in seven states and operations across the western U.S. Prior to beginning his role as president and CEO in November 2022, Rob served as chief operating officer for five years. He was named as one of the top 25 COOs in healthcare by Modern Healthcare. Rob has served in executive leadership at Intermountain for 25 years.

Under his leadership, Rob has helped propel Intermountain to national recognition as a leading model for innovating health and wellness solutions, increasing value, and improving affordability and accessibility to all. He led the system efforts to develop and launch innovative outreach, telehealth, and clinical shared service models. He led Intermountain’s nationally recognized operational work and continuous improvement culture to align providers, caregivers, and services across much of the interior west.

Rob has also held CEO roles at hospitals and health systems in Wyoming, New Jersey, and Massachusetts. A fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives, Rob has served on many foundation, chamber, and service boards. One of Rob’s ongoing passions is mentoring healthcare executives—nurturing leadership excellence for the future.

Rob earned a Master of Business Administration degree from Utah State University and a Bachelor of Science Degree in operations management from Brigham Young University. His love of healthcare began during his childhood as he was raised on a farm in Star Valley, Wyoming, where his mother served as a nurse and later as administrator at Star Valley Hospital. He and his wife, Becky, have three children and four grandchildren.

Nicole Mouskondis currently serves as the co-CEO of Nicholas & Company, Inc., a third-generation, family-owned and operated, foodservice distribution company serving the Intermountain West.

Before her tenure at Nicholas & Company, Inc., Nicole was the marketing and program director for Rocky Mountain Gymnastics and worked with Coca-Cola USA to market elite gymnastics competitions throughout the country. She began her career at Nicholas & Company as an HR assistant before serving as vice president for seven years and senior vice president for 12 years.

Nicole’s current community service includes Nicholas & Company Board member; Wells Fargo Women’s Advisory Board member; UMFA Board member; WPO UT chapter member; C200 member; University of Utah David Eccles School of Business Advisory Board member.

Noteworthy achievements: Utah Business Magazine’s 30 Women to Watch recipient; Salt Lake City Chamber’s Pathfinders award; Exceptional Women awardee; and former member of the USA National and University of Utah Gymnastics teams.

She received a bachelor’s degree in Behavioral Science and Health from the University of Utah and a master’s degree in Strategic Communication and Leadership from Seton Hall University.

Spencer Eccles is Chairman Emeritus of the Intermountain Banking Region of Wells Fargo & Co., and Chairman & CEO of the George S. and Dolores Doré Eccles Foundation, one of Utah’s largest charitable foundations that has awarded grants totaling more than $750 million to enrich the lives of all Utahns and strengthen the future of the state. As Chairman and CEO of First Security Corp. (1982-2000), he carried on the Eccles’ leadership of the nation’s oldest multi-state bank holding company, which merged with Wells Fargo in 2000. During more than 46 years in banking, Spencer served on boards including the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco, Union Pacific, the U.S. National Parks Foundation, and Utah’s 2002 Olympic Winter Games Organizing Committee. He currently serves as a board member of Envision Utah, Alta Ski Lifts, the U.S. Ski Team Foundation, and the University of Utah’s David Eccles School of Business, among others. He is also a board member of five other Eccles family charitable foundations, remaining one of Utah’s most influential advocates and philanthropists. Spencer holds a master’s degree from Columbia Business School and a bachelor’s degree in banking and finance from the University of Utah, where he remains among its most active and generous benefactors and “boosters!” Most recently, the university recognized his decades of involvement and philanthropic support through the naming of the Spencer Fox Eccles School of Medicine.

Cyndi Woodbury Gilbert serves as Corporate Counsel for Gilbert Development Corporation and Crusher Rental & Sales, Inc. She and her husband own Diamond "G" Rodeos, Inc., that provides stock for rodeos across the west, including the Days of '47 Rodeo in Salt Lake. Cyndi has served on the boards of many organizations, including Southern Utah University and Snow College. She also serves on the St. George Regional Hospital Governing Board. She has a bachelor's degree from Southern Utah University and a JD from Brigham Young University.

Albert (Bert) R. Zimmerli recently retired after 20 years as the Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Intermountain Health, a fully-integrated $14+ billion health system based in Salt Lake City, Utah. During his tenure, Intermountain’s revenue and net assets grew approximately 500% and 830%, respectively, and achieved & maintained the highest financial ratings in healthcare (AA + from S&P and Aa1 from Moody’s). He was responsible for the direction and oversight of all Intermountain financial operations, as well as Intermountain’ s revenue cycle, supply chain, and venture development and innovation strategies. He continues to serve on the Boards of SelectHealth and the Intermountain Foundation, and chairs the boards of Intermountain Health Ventures and Culmination Bio, Inc.  Prior to joining Intermountain, Bert was the executive vice president and chief financial officer of the Methodist Hospital System (now Houston Methodist) in Houston, Texas.  Prior to that, he served in numerous capacities with Memorial Hermann Healthcare System in Houston, including senior vice president and chief financial officer.  He also was a partner in Ernst & Young’s Houston office, where he spent 16 years, specializing in healthcare.  Bert served on the board of R1 RCM, a publicly traded company for approximately 5 years and currently serves on the boards of several privately held companies. He also has served, and in some cases continues to serve, in an advisory capacity for two private equity funds.  He is a Certified Public Accountant and received the Elijah Watts Sells Award for achieving the second highest score in the United States when he passed the CPA Exam.

Bert is a member of the executive leadership team and one of four owners of Goldstream, a private company which owns, develops and operates retirement living centers predominantly located in the Intermountain West.

Bert and his wife, Lynnie, have been married for over 40 years and have three adult sons.  In addition to supporting a few community-based organizations that support children and families, they enjoy traveling, outdoor sports, and generally spending time with friends and family.
