Talking to a friend or family member about thoughts and feelings of suicide can be difficult. If you’re unsure whether someone is at risk for suicide, the best way to find out is to ask. Asking about suicide does not make someone more likely to make an attempt and it may save a life. Listen without judgement, don’t try to fix it, and offer to go with your loved one to get support.
