Mr. Mabbutt is Chief Consumer Officer of Intermountain Healthcare. He began serving in this position in August 2017. Mr. Mabbutt brings more than 25 years of consumer-focused experience to this role.
As a member of Intermountain’s Enterprise Leadership Team, Mr. Mabbutt is responsible for bringing consumer (patients, members, caregivers, and community) perspectives to the forefront of healthcare design and delivery. He leads Intermountain’s efforts to identify what consumers need and expect from healthcare, and to evolve the organization’s capability to create and deliver consistent, consumer-centric, digitally-enabled experiences for them. This includes leading the development and rollout of My Health+, Intermountain’s digital front door, which empowers patients and members to find, manage, and pay for care in a convenient and seamless way.
Mr. Mabbutt also leads Intermountain’s marketing, brand, and communications function.
Mr. Mabbutt was previously at The Walt Disney Company, based in Los Angeles California, where he served as the Global Head of Consumer Insight. He led consumer experience development and transformation for Disney’s theme park, cruise line, resort, retail, and digital businesses in the U.S., Europe, and Asia. He was instrumental in defining the guest experience at Disney’s first theme park in mainland China (Shanghai Disney Resort) and driving the digital transformation of Walt Disney World in Florida (My Disney Experience portal and Magic Bands). He also helped expand the Disney, Pixar, Marvel, and Star Wars brands globally.
Prior to Disney, Mr. Mabbutt held global marketing and strategy leadership roles at Discovery Channel and the BBC and served as a consultant to media companies in the Middle East, Asia, and Europe. He was also a member of Deloitte’s consumer practice. In that role he developed strategies to attract, retain, and satisfy customers in the banking, transportation, and retail sectors.
Mr. Mabbutt was born in London, grew up in Africa, and received both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Cambridge University in England. He relocated to the US with his family in 2005.
